News stories and reports are appearing every day about living longer with and after cancer. They touch on the difficulties of making decisions about treatment and care in the right way at the right time for the person affected by cancer but don’t suggest a solution.  The cancer advocacy pilots demonstrate that it’s possible to take action to change the situation for the better.  Susannah Kirkman, one of our local Cancer Champions, helped us to prepare an article for monthly newspaper Mature Times to pick up on their recent coverage of the issues.  We quote Dorset volunteer Bob Smith who has described his motivation for training as a peer advocate.
